Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

Candidates will be expected to perform service work and repairs on facility equipment. You will need to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, then make the necessary repairs. The role involves working on rooftops and within the facility, climbing ladders, and using lifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service work and repairs on facility equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with facility equipment.

  • Make necessary repairs to ensure equipment functionality.

  • Work on rooftops and within the facility.

  • Climb ladders and use lifts to access equipment.

  • Install electrical systems and make repairs.

  • Program PLCs, VFDs, and other controls hardware.

  • Use specialized tools and instruments to troubleshoot, repair, and program electrical equipment.

  • Have a working knowledge of the NEC code and NFPA 70E, its interpretation and implementation.

  • Troubleshoot control systems throughout the plant and make repairs as required.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as a Journeyman Electrician (must be card-carrying, UAW or state certified).

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.

  • Skill in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.

  • Experience with conduit bending and wiring.

  • Knowledge of electrical service and industrial installations.

  • Journeyman Electrician State Certification and successful completion of a formal four-year apprenticeship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, VFDs, and other controls hardware.

  • Experience using specialized tools and instruments for electrical work.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large industrial GM plant for EVs. Employees will be required to work on rooftops, within the facility, and use lifts. The job involves climbing ladders and adhering to safety protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.29 - $36.29/hr.
