Degree Audit Specialist

Essential functions (job duties):
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Audit degree requirements results for accuracy in reflecting school, college and department requirements; perform quality control checks, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity
Design and conduct University-wide training programs on Degree Works software; serve as a training resource to schools, colleges and departments providing guidance on degree audit processing and graduation sign off procedures
Work collaboratively with schools and colleges to identify opportunities for improvements in the management and use of the degree audit system
Provide functional guidance and work direction to technical staff by articulating the needs of faculty and academic staff as degree requirements change
Provide open house sessions for students on using degree audit software to track their degree progress
Provide best practice workshops for academic departments, including faculty and academic staff on how to maximize the functionality of the degree audit system for their academic programs
Oversee and monitor course substitution and waivers entered in the degree audit system.
Work closely with the Transfer Credit Office and the Transfer Student Success Center in the development and maintenance of the self-articulation degree audit tool
Compile data for on-going retention and graduation reports, utilizing advanced business software or computer applications
Ensure that upgrades to the degree audit software are kept current, providing support to the testing plans.
Serve on teams, task forces and committees related to graduation and retention rates
Identify opportunities for developments and improvements for the degree audit system, including degree evaluation systems and services
Perform related work as assigned
Unique duties:
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Two years experience with degree audit software and/or advising on degree requirements.
At least two years of progressive responsibility working with Banner and degree audit, or similar systems
Experience in training and creating training documentation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with WSU schools and college degree and curricular requirements with Degree Works coding a plus
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to work independently, effectively and collegially with faculty, deans, staff and senior administrators
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent oral and written communication skills
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely
manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Ability to evaluate, interpret, and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations. Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail in order to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
