Henry Ford Health System Athletic Trainer - Center for Athletic Medicine - 1.0 Variable Shift - Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This Athletic Trainer will be assigned to support growth of the sports medicine outreach program assisting with AT services at high school and universities. Initial assignment will be supporting a maternity leave at a high school. Subsequent assignments will be fluid in community outreach with other duties as assigned to fulfill full time position.

Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent required.

  • Post-certification master's degree in athletic training or related field preferred.

  • At least two years of related and expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or a combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize delivery of services as needed.

  • Adheres to community outreach or school policies, including but not limited to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA while meeting expectations of community outreach programming.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.

  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs required or obtained prior to date of hire.

  • Additional certifications and credentials obtained in health care (i.e. CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT) preferred.
