Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. There is a job opening with great career growth potential and a great benefits package in this quickly growing accounting team. Entering, posting, and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging report, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, updating, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L will be among the Accounts Receivable Clerk's duties. The Accounts Receivable Clerk must be a self-starter with high attention to detail, in order to handle 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Detroit, Michigan area.

How you will make an impact

• Square bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in diverse ledgers

• Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP

• Verify codes and documents

• Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans

• Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders

• Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

• Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

• Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

• Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

• Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Cash Activity experience desired

• Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills

• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

• Efficient in ERP systems

• Detailed and have the ability work independently
