They will work to connect the client to possible employment opportunities, develop relationships with employers, and conduct outreach to other community-based agencies. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of job placement of persons with vocational/occupational barriers, including physical, emotional, psychological and intellectual disabilities. Primary Job Responsibilities: Provide individual and group-based core Pre-ETS services to youth with disabilities ages 14-22 in a community based or school-based setting. These services include Self advocacy, Work Readiness Training, Job Exploration, Post-Secondary Counseling and Work Based Learning. Participate in the identification, coordination and placement of youth with employers for paid and unpaid experiences such as job shadowing, service learning and work experiences. Assist youth in identifying community resources that may support vocational or other related goals. Provide support and skills training to prepare youth for future employment and post-secondary planning Maintain working relationship between Stellher, employers, VR counselors and other partnering entities to ensure the goals of the program are being met. Provide information to youth with disabilities on disability-related topics and independent living. Teach life/career skills to youth and coordinate with Vocational Rehabilitation, as appropriate, to maximize employment outcomes. Attend and participate in team meetings for consumers as an advocate for the interests and goals of the consumer when necessary. Participate in community outreach and community education activities to develop community and school relationships. Maintain up to date consumer service records. Ensure required paperwork and documentation is up to date and maintained according to departmental and agency guidelines for record keeping and reporting purposes.
