Job Title: Quality Support Technician AQE (All Quality Events)

Salary: £ 33,893.23 rising to £ £37,568.82 when role objectives are reached

Contract : Full time & Permanent

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

The Opportunity

As Quality Support Technician within All Quality Events (AQE) in the Building Construction Products (BCP) division you provide oversight and co-ordination of various quality support activities including the investigation, documentation, analysis and resolution of quality issues.

As a Quality Support Technician , you are accountable for, but not limited to:

• Lead Continuous Improvement: Gather assembly defect data, develop and update checks, and generate continuous improvement ideas.

• Quality Management: Catalogue quality issues, identify defects for repair, and assist in implementing the Caterpillar Quality Management System (CQMS).

• Metrics and Reporting: Generate and report quality metrics, ensuring alignment with corporate processes and addressing roadblocks.

• Incident Response: Respond to quality incidents, support lean built-in quality (BIQ) processes, and ensure corrective actions are taken.

• Health, Safety, and Training: Adhere to health and safety policies, report incidents, and support training and personal development initiatives.

What You Can Demonstrate:

• Quality Systems Expertise: Knowledge of All Quality Events (AQE) system and ability to create checklists for New Product Introduction from conception to production readiness.

• Leadership and Teamwork: Leadership experience in a quality-controlled environment and ability to lead a team of inspectors, multitask, prioritize work, and be a team player.

• Problem Solving: DMAIC knowledge and experience in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and independent decision-making to address unforeseen quality issues and identify root cause corrective actions.

• Cross-Functional Communication: Effective communication across functions to complete tasks through the Built-in Quality (BIQ) process.

• Process Improvement: Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and adhering to Caterpillar's corporate processes.

Top Candidates may have:

• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Excel, Team Centre, Epix, PRWB, and SIS.

• Certifications and Licenses: Yellow/Green Belt certification, JIT knowledge, and a full driving license for all products, including Telehandler.

• Problem Solving and Quality Systems: DMAIC problem-solving experience and awareness of CQMS and quality principles such as CPI, PIQ, IPV, Quality gates, and FMEA.

• Independent and Flexible: Ability to work with minimum supervision and travel if required.

• Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and quality management practices.
