Job Description

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Economic Development Authority . Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority is seeking aLoan Operations Project Coordinatorto join our Business, Finance and Compliance Team.

The Loan Operations Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating various projects related to our Innovation programming. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with lending and loan processing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Work closely with management to ensure compliance with contract specifications fo Innovation Team Programs and Projects

  • Prepare necessary loan/grant documents to facilitate project execution

  • Monitor project progress against pre-set contracted milestones

  • Verify that all conditions for disbursement have been met before authorizing fund release

  • Review and follow-up on annual status reports submitted by assigned projects

  • Prepare amendments to loan/grant agreements under management oversight

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with external shareholders

  • Communicate program rules and regulations to recipients via email, phone, and in-person

  • Organize and route financial claims into the grants management program and Workday

  • Coordinate electronic routing of loan/grant agreement approvals and amendments

Data and Report Coordination (Innovation Team):

Project Management:

  • Work closely with management to ensure compliance with contract specifications for Innovation Team Programs and Projects

  • Prepare necessary loan/grant documents to facilitate project execution

  • Monitor project progress against pre-set contracted milestones

Support for Business Finance & Compliance and Innovation:

  • Assist in reviewing grant and loan applications

  • Contribute to the development of program materials and applications

  • Manage loan/application routing for Business Finance & Compliance programs

  • Participate in meetings with program managers and external stakeholders

  • Support site visits to awarded grant and loan projects

  • Produce content for information requests

  • Monitor compliance with Targeted Small Business (TSB) criteria

  • Interpret regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws

  • Review applications containing confidential information

  • Connect with applicants to request documentation and follow-up information

  • Respond to inquiries about Innovation Programs

  • Coordinate completed applications for internal review

  • Maintain the IDEA supplier/vendor system, including additions, deletions, and renewals

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in research, planning, economics, public relations, business, corporate finance, journalism or marketing and experience equal to one year of full-time work that involved responsibility for interpreting laws, rules and regulations, and/or securing compliance with them; or compiling and evaluating statistical, historical, economic, business, financial, or technical related program data;

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the above specified experience for each year (thirty semester or equivalent hours) of the required education.

Employees will be required to travel. Some positions may require employees to furnish their own means of transportation in order to conduct state business.
