Are you a forward-thinking business student with a passion for international, and wanting to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based collaborative work environment? Join us for a Summer 2025 Internship in the Customer & Account Management (C&AM) International Business Development (IBD) Department.

Working alongside experienced Collins’ BD personnel, you will have the unique opportunity to assist Offset personnel to learn about Offset & Localization, an important part of international business. As a part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for defense acquisitions, many countries around the world require the out-of-country prime contractor to place new business in the country as a consideration to win the sale contract. Offset is a way to bring value back to a country, and by requiring offset, a country can attempt to reduce any discontent its own population might have over paying so much money to a foreign producer. Countries do not want to depend on another country to maintain their military. Offset is a way to contractually require the prime contractor to work with local industry to establish new defense capability in country, enhancing that country’s defense self-sufficiency.

What You Will Do:

  • Participate in quarterly Offset Working Group meetings.

  • Coordinate with Global Supply Chain to identify new purchases for offset credit.

  • Gather data for periodic offset meetings with prime contractors.

  • Support Offset personnel with annual offset claim reporting.

  • Assist with Offset Accelerator standard work drafting process from CORE event.

    What You Will Learn:

  • How to merge theoretical knowledge gained in school with practical business skills.

  • Business development skills in all phases of offset planning (country guidelines, project types, multipliers, offset credit)

  • Understand life cycle of offset, from concept to credit.

  • How the offset process works, both within Collins Aerospace and across businesses.

  • How offset is more than a contractual obligation, but an international business win discriminator.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    Qualifications We Prefer:
