Robert Half is partnering with a leading healthcare company in Des Moines to find an experienced Billing Specialist for a contract role. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a respected healthcare organization while showcasing your expertise in medical billing and ensuring smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and submit medical claims for reimbursement to insurance carriers, Medicaid, Medicare, and patients.

• Perform daily billing functions, including preparing invoices, reviewing coding accuracy, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and payment delays in a timely manner.

• Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely collection.

• Maintain detailed and organized billing records in compliance with company standards and healthcare regulations.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure accurate billing and resolve any payment or procedural issues.

• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to process claims efficiently.

  Requirements

• 2+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.

• Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, including CPT, ICD-10 codes, and insurance claims.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policies and reimbursement processes.

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail for handling billing inconsistencies and discrepancies.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a customer-focused demeanor.
