Primary Objective:

This position will act as the subject matter expert for PCB and will be responsible for interactively working with business units to solve problems or enhance business processes by developing custom programs or reports utilizing commercial off the shelf tools. They should possess excellent writing, communication and collaboration skills. May provide assistance, mentoring or work direction to other programmer/analyst.

Major Areas of Accountability

Ensures development is done to standards with a holistic view taking availability, redundancy, and scalability into consideration.

  • Identify development opportunities (problems, improvements) to business processes or other problems by collaborating with business unit managers and staff.

  • Gather, qualify and document program customer requirements.

  • Assess the impact of implementing specific solutions vs. not implementing solutions and build vs. buy. This may include preparing cost assessment, process assessment, value/benefits assessment, impact studies.

  • Model/architect solutions to identified problems or opportunities.

  • Utilize project management skills to plan, implement, and control projects. Ability to assume a leadership role, as needed.

  • Implement architected solutions by writing, debugging, and testing (included limited Quality Assurance testing) code using C# and Visual Studio.net, MS SQL, and other development tools.

  • Use source code control tools such as Team Foundation Server to maintain a repository of code and development changes.

  • Develop documentation of source code as well as end-user training guides.

  • Works with supervisor to develop and maintain procedures of Information Technology department.

  • Cross train other team members on areas of responsibility to create a departmental depth of support for all systems.

  • Perform administration of related systems such as databases, source code repositories, etc.

  • On-call for after-hour’s systems alerts and emergency user issues.

  • Performs System Maintenance and upgrades in available maintenance windows outside of normal business hours.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in a database programming or systems analysis

Application development experience in a minimum of two of the following areas: Crystal Reports, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting), XML/XSL, Visual Studio.NET, MS SQL Server

Travel Up to two weeks of travel, annually as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer programming, or computer science

Experience

3 years of ERP/MRP experience

4 years of application development experience in Visual Studio.NET and/or MS SQL Server, preferred

Project management experience with a structured software development lifecycle approach
