PCB Piezotronics, Inc. Automated Test Systems - Engineer II in Depew, New York

Primary Objective:

This staff level engineer will design, develop, deploy and support computerized calibration systems for Engineering and Production testing and calibration of PCB Products. This includes but is not limited to support for the business in the form of timely response to system failures, participation in continuous improvement initiatives and response to measurement requirements for new product launch.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Works closely with Engineers and Calibration Technicians to develop calibration techniques and procedures for sensor products and systems.

  • Supports the development of junior engineering staff by providing guidance and coaching in the pursuit of standardized operating systems.

  • Responsible to support and maintain existing test systems by responding to conditions that affect production efficiency.

  • Create software applications to generate calibration data, configure products, automate testing and calibrate equipment according to specifications.

  • Develop, test, debug, install and maintain software and hardware for product calibration and testing.

  • Develop and publish operating and maintenance instructions for Automated Test Equipment programs and systems.

  • Provide applications support to Sales and Customer Service for technical inquiries on signal processing and sensor measurements.

  • Provide support for sales and marketing by developing and supporting existing demonstrations and displays for tradeshows.

  • Provide support and training on computer hardware, software, systems and application programs.

  • Research hardware and software solutions for compatibility and applicability.

  • Supports the development of innovative strategies for future sustainability.

  • Works closely with remote facilities to direct Automated Test Equipment functions.

  • Develops and maintains upgrade plans for future Automated Test Equipment development.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree in an Engineering, Technology, Mechatronics or Computer Science discipline

Experience

4 years of work experience in test engineering, technical software development or signal processing.

Strong knowledge of software development and computer hardware.

Expertise in digital data acquisition and signal processing.

Working knowledge of common and current development software (ie.: Labview).

Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

Travel

May travel approximately 10% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other manufacturing locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences dependent on business need.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technology, Mechatronics or Computer Science discipline.

Experience

Test engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of testing protocols and results analysis.

Knowledge of production principles and procedures.

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M).
