PCB Piezotronics, Inc. Accounting Associate III in Depew, New York

Primary Objective:

The Accounting Associate III will, under the supervision of the AP/AR Supervisor, perform assigned duties within accounts payable and receivable (transaction group). This person will serve as the lead backup and support to the AP/AR Supervisor. They will perform clerical accounting operations, such as the timely and accurate deposit of accounts receivable for accounts, collection of aging accounts, voucher and process vendor accounts payables, and preparing monthly financial reporting packages and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy. They will have an intermediate to advanced skillset in Excel: ability to create/maintain templates, pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, data analysis, and utilize functions: sort, filter, formulas, etc.).

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Copies all checks received, matches with invoice, applies payment via computer system, and files.

  • Prepares and submits bank deposits.

  • Communicates with banks by telephone or fax to identify payment for foreign or electronic wire transfers.

  • Reviews freight invoices, matches up to proper documentation for processing of payment.

  • Processes credit card transactions.

  • Reviews aging accounts report for AR over 45 days. Contacts these customers and sets up payment schedule, where appropriate. Resolves any problems related to invoices and works with the in-house customer service representatives on problem accounts to ensure efficient response.

  • Maintains correspondence and records related to chapter 7 or 11 accounts, as well as phone records to all accounts contacted.

  • Maintains appropriate files to comply with department procedures and legal requirements.

  • Inputs vendor invoices manually and through Generate Voucher in Purchasing Module.

  • Generates material returns in Accounts Payable.

  • Processes checks to vendors.

  • Responsible for the Voucher Payable report on a monthly basis.

  • Understand and works within the company ISO 9001 quality system.

  • Responsible for working with the Syteline computer system and maintaining good working knowledge.

  • Reports and maintains weekly commissions to sales representatives and distributors. Calculates and verifies month end commissions to be paid.

  • Generates monthly account statements.

  • Processes Dun and Bradstreet Reports for the review of credit applications.

  • Follows detailed accounting procedures.

  • Assists Accounting personnel as needed.

  • Assists with the training of Accounting Associate I and IIs as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in AP/AR environment
