Job Summary

Manage the reliability and sustainable growth of the gas distribution system by developing and maintaining long-term plans for system improvement, analyzing the impacts of significant load additions and changes to the distribution system, and managing wintertime customer support activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete system analysis related to significant additions or modifications to the gas distribution system and guide scoping and development of improvement projects.

  • Develop long term capacity and reliability improvement plans for areas of the distribution system. Coordinate with area Engineering Design teams, M&R Engineering Design and Gas Supply to manage distribution system improvement Master Plans.

  • Develop and maintain winter customer support / interruption plans to maintain system reliability during cold weather periods.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced use of Synergi application to analyze impacts of changes to hydraulic distribution system and advanced understanding of gas pipeline flow.

  • Project leadership skills, training and mentorship skills.

  • Long-term planning skills including scoping, organization of phasing, prioritization, and portfolio management.

  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Technical writing skills.

Education and Experience

Engineer II:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in natural gas engineering.

  • EIT / PE preferred.

Engineer III:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • A minimum three (3) years of experience in natural gas engineering.

  • EIT / PE preferred.
