Senior Merchandise Manager, DSG (TNF, Americas)

How You Will Make a Difference

The purpose of this role is to plan the merchandising requirement for our Wholesale business (specifically for Dicks Sporting Goods), both pre-season requirement, in-season allocation, and post-season clearance. Task include managing the allocation of inventory once bought, ensuring that the retail business financial strategy in terms of revenue, profit and inventory targets are achieved and the seasonal. Works with cross-functional partners to develop and deliver the retail strategy to identify channel requirements, Open to Buy (OTB,) distribution of product to stores to meet financial goals. Manages, trains, and develops merchants. Manages OTB to maximize turnover and cash flow. Partners closely with the planning and allocations teams.

What you will do:

  • Set direction for merchandise plans that support and drive to the brand strategic goals and objectives for retail.

  • Set the Financial Strategy in conjunction with Finance and ensure effective communication and implementation through Planning team.

  • Total Retail, Channel, Category and Class Level plans for buying to execute against.

  • Oversee OTB, distribution of product to stores, and management of product from receipt to liquidation.

  • Bottom line responsibility for revenue and profit in accordance with budget targets.

  • Manage OTB to maximize turnover and cash flow.

  • Manage product flow to maximize sales, margin and consumer appeal from flow of relevant collections.

  • Provide weekly reporting to Wholesale Leadership Team allowing for quick, efficient decision making on business and a clear understanding of performance against plan.

  • Oversee phase changes and ensures efficient execution of buying strategy at store level.

Skills for Success

Years of related professional experience : 8 years leading a Buying or Merchandising team, with ability to demonstrable Merchandising experience.

Educational position requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Hiring Range :

$120,960.00 USD - $151,200.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
