Quality Assurance Product Engineer – The North Face

This role will work with cross-functional teams to minimize quality risks and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement. The role will serve as the primary liaison contact for global quality issues, bulk production issues, VOC (voice of the customer) interacting with inter/external functional teams to resolve and mitigate any quality concerns. This role will work collaboratively across the organization to ensure the quality standards are upheld.

Responsibilities :

Global DC quality issue management:

Provide dispositions for global DC quality failures for assigned categories.

Project manages all of DC issues for assigned categories. Examples: 3rd party rework; 5k report, etc.

Interact with cross-functional team for root cause analysis and problem-solving options.

Establish DC process and tools

Establish and implement the global DC training platform.

External quality issue management:

Manage external quality issues (such as: EFR, VOC, store complaints…etc…) for assigned categories.

Interact with cross-functional team for root cause analysis and problem-solving options.

Statistical Analytics:

Collect and analyze global quality failures, return rates and the VOC data. Provide insights for product design improvement to TD/PD/CM, Design…etc…

Partner with Product Stewardship:

Partner with Product Stewardship teams, to ensure all corporate, brand, regulatory and legal requirements are met.

Education:

Spport the QA manager to provide inspection training on specific product categories based on the brand requirements and maintain/update the training material as needed, including online training module creation and documentation.

Development/production consultation:

Partner with cross-functional team (color/ material/ design/ TD) for the product risk analysis for assigned categories, providing suggestions for production risk control during development stage.

Special projects assigned by the QA manager.

Skills for Success:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a Quality Assurance or Product Development environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient math aptitude.

  • Proficient organizational and time management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related filed preferred

  • Experience working in the Footwear, Apparel, and/or Accessories industry required.

  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills required. (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, etc.). Additional computer skills preferred: CAD, PLM, SharePoint, Tableau, Illustrator

  • Must be a creative problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively on complex issues.

  • Have excellent attention for detail

  • Not afraid to ask questions to better understand expectations for assignments or job duties.

  • Consistent follow through and consistent at meeting deadlines.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

  • Good vision and measured color perception is required for this position.

  • Travel domestic and/or international, including overnight, as required; maximum 20%

  • Lifting and/or bending 30-50lbs

Pay Range:

$76,032.00 USD - $114,048.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential:

This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
