We are recruiting a Technical Product Director for the American Red Cross Innovation team. The Technical Product Director will be part of Innovation Team leadership and will work with stakeholders to strategize, determine, document, and deliver on the product requirements for technology solutions that service the Red Cross mission. The Technical Product Director will manage teams, understand and shape business practices and technical considerations, determine product and user requirements, prototype/test and track work to completion, and ensure the solution provides the intended bus

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience leading agile software development teams, strong communication and relationship management skills, and be able to independently implement projects involving low to no cod

The position is fully remote, but we are asking for candidates who can support US East Coast business hours. For example, West Coast candidates would be asked to start their day around 10 am ET/7 am PT.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): 1. Lead the evaluation of new technology developments, applications and evolving business/systems requirements. 2. Work cross-functionally to develop and document the business cases that can be used to initiate technology and data science projects. 3. Oversee the maintenance of a roadmap of all active projects with high-level timelines tracking project/portfolio performance metrics to monitor business value over time. 4. Manage employees, contractors, and volunteers to coordinate the daily task and status of work within the Innovation team. 5. Oversee the production of documentation such as process maps, high level requirements and high level UX screens (using the appropriate tool - e.g. Powerpoint, Photoshop, Figma, or Axure). 6. Drive the understanding of business processes and technical requirements for the development of solutions. 7. Work closely with clients to analyze the current and future direction of technology and data science to meet business goals. 8. Lead the investigation of complex operations-related problems/inquiries and reco mend, facilitate, and coordinate solutions. 9. Prepare communications and make presentations related to your work. 10. Educate clients about the software and project lifecycles and the business roles. 11. Facilitate problem resolution between IT and the business, as needed. 12. Represent, champion and balance client interests within IT. 13. Provide training and guidance to other staff. 14. Oversee the testing of the product at the site and remotely. 15. Log bugs and work with the developers for resolving issues. 16. Drive user testing with field resources to check if the product works as desired from user point of view. 17. Frequent visits to the site to build relationships with the field teams and understand user pain points. 18. As needed, help with product development of technology prototypes and solutions.

Scope: people manager that interprets and administers policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications): * Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred. * Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience in the Technical Product Management space or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred. Recent coding experience required, ideally with HTML, CSS, and an object-oriented programming language, e.g. Python/Java/C#/C++.
