Meta Strategic Counselor, Product (Payments) in Denver, Colorado


We are looking for an experienced Strategic Counselor to join the Meta Fintech Legal Team, within the Legal organization in Meta. The role is aimed at enhancing the MFT Legal Team’s overall effectiveness by establishing processes, and tools to support the functioning of the team and project managing high priority, cross-functional legal issues. You will also work across a highly interdisciplinary team of lawyers, product, privacy, and other legal cross-functional stakeholders to identify strategic business and operations initiatives and ensure smooth executions. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical, business and/or legal background who is knowledgeable and passionate about solving complex legal, business, and operations issues. This position requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills, identifying operational improvements, and effectively communicating strategic recommendations. We are looking for someone with excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication skills and a natural ability to manage fast-changing situations.This position will play a key role in supporting initiatives across the company, and act as a key support to our Head Legal Meta Fintech and MFT legal team. Required Skills:

Strategic Counselor, Product (Payments) Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Head Legal MFT in proactively managing key priorities and initiatives across the org, including through liaison with colleagues, organizing meetings and follow-up on key issues, and helping to leverage leadership time and attention on critical matters

  2. Establish and maintain internal project tracking tools and processes for reporting to key cross-functional partners to ensure the right level of tracking, transparency and reporting

  4. Provide the process and frameworks to enable successful project execution within the MFT Legal organization. Execute on cross-pillar key business operations processes on team deliverables, identified risks and key initiative milestones

  5. Ensure the right execution, communication and resources are in place to deliver on key milestones

  6. Supervise active projects of team to ensure they are tracking to committed goals/milestones

  7. Foster relationships and work with cross-functional partners to understand their needs and ideas on how to better collaborate

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar

  2. 8+ years of attorney experience, including in-house or law firm experience

  3. Experience in technology or related field

  1. Experience in managing ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams, experience in Legal topics and/or Legal Operations preferred

  2. Experience managing complex projects

  3. Experience with organizing, coordinating, multi-tasking, and process-improvements on a project

  4. Experience in program management, consulting, strategy, operations, or related area

  5. Experience leveraging knowledge and skills across multiple ongoing programs and stakeholders to drive change, motivate teams and deliver or support to deliver initiatives

  6. Worked in leadership role that collaborated with executives and effectively managed changes with cross functional teams

  7. Experience with confidentiality and using discretion

  8. Experience developing new methodologies, thinking strategically and critically, and prioritizing and managing multiple priorities
