The Role: The Sr. Financial Analyst - Risk Finance will have primary responsibility for financial and accounting support of the Risk Team (Grain Merchants/Traders). In addition, the person will serve as a controller or financial lead of a grain elevator joint venture (JV) in Colorado called Commerce City Grain, LLC. Responsibilities include financial and management reporting, forecasting, analysis and tracking of purchase and sale contracts, understanding of Company's hedging strategies, mark-to-market (MTM) accounting, month-end close activities, establishing and monitoring effective business/process controls, supporting internal and external audits for the Risk Finance and JV space, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc project work. Key Accountabilities: Provide various internal stakeholders with financial support at the corporate and plant level. Prepare weekly and monthly grain P&L forecast and analysis. Month-end accounting close activities and analysis of business performance for Ardent Mills and JV. Contract valuations, derivative analysis, hedge accounting, GAAP accounting etc. Develop deeper understanding of Company's hedging/trading strategies to better serve the Risk Team and become a copilot in the risk space. Monitor daily position management and reporting of Company's risk metrics. Example: stress test reporting, VaR, derivative limits etc. and be able to draw business decisions. Support and drive annual financial planning process for the Risk Team and the JV. Support internal and external audit process. Implement and maintain adequate and effective internal controls across the business processes including managing accounting policies and procedures. Drive systematic improvements in ERPs around position management. Work with the Risk Team, Sales Team, and the Risk Oversight Committee to drive accurate, consistent, and streamlined position reporting. Complete other projects, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned. Demonstrate effective communication skills with key stakeholders, including Company's finance leadership team (FLT) and Company's senior leadership team (SLT). Operate with simplicity, clarity, and transparency while demonstrating understanding, respect, and care for others. Learn and apply new technology and share your knowledge with others. Be a mentor to junior analysts and financial specialists. Occasional, minimal, travel may be necessary.

Skills & Experience: 5+ years in accounting or finance position with focus on high complexity transactions. Bachelor's degree or higher in finance or accounting required. Must be comfortable handling and analyzing sizable general ledger activity and draw conclusions from it. Be able to tur data into actionable information that tells a financial story. Advanced understanding of financial statements such as the balance sheet, cash flow statement, and P&L) Proficient understanding of general accounting is required. Comfortable with Debits/Credits. Understanding of mark-to-market (MTM) accounting preferred, but not required. Strategic thinker. Understand past trends and turn them into forward looking objectives. Possess a go-get attitude, lightheartedness, business owner mindset, and appreciation for daily intricacies of life and work. Budgeting and forecasting experience. Advanced knowledge of ERPs, implementing process improvements, and driving out inefficiencies. Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls and effective policies. Demonstrated capability to collaborate and execute cross functionally. Ability to work on multiple, complex projects, simultaneously and see them to completion with limited supervision.
