JOB SUMMARY The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions and providing financial expertise for corporate operations. Includes financial reporting, general ledger management, financial analysis, consolidation, intercompany accounting, internal controls, auditing, and management reporting. Seasoned professional works independently with limited supervision to achieve operational goals within the job area. Problems faced are typically difficult and sometimes complex. May manage projects and processes and influence others to improve efficiencies in job area. Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES Typical job responsibilities of the Senior Corporate Accountant include: • Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial reports for corporate operations, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies. • Oversee the general ledger for corporate accounts, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. • Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements for multiple business units or subsidiaries. Handle intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations. • Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations of corporate operations. Provide recommendations for business improvement and cost optimization. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide financial insights for decision-making. • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal control procedures to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with financial policies and regulations. • Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and information. • Manage complex accounting tasks and make financial recommendations for the organization. • May guide a team of accountants and provide coaching and feedback as needed. • May lead initiatives to solve moderately complex problems and improve policies, processes, and systems. • Stay abreast of relevant accounting principles and regulations. • Perform other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements. • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including management reporting. • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, IFRS knowledge a plus. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting, finance, or a related discipline preferred. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly desirable. • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry accounting experience, with (3) years in the upstream natural gas industry or related field. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS • This position is located in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Remote work will be considered. • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment. • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others. SALARY RANGE • $85,000 to $140,000 per year
