HollyFrontier Safety Representative in Denver, Colorado

Basic Function

Holly Energy Partners is seeking a Safety Representative to be located in Casper, WY, open to Denver, CO, Cheyenne, WY and Sinclair, WY.The Safety Representative conducts high-level health and safety assignments, and proactively manages EHS risk, regulatory compliance and strives for excellence in safety and incident prevention.

Job Duties

Works to identify employee and contractor risks and minimize the number of incidents and injuries. Provides safety and health support and oversight to pipeline, terminal, and tank farm operations in assigned areas of responsibility. Perform worksite assessments to observe work performed in the field, assess compliance with safe work practices and procedures, and improve worksite safety through hazard recognition and mitigation, coaching, and employee engagement. Conducts safety training and assists management with training needs based on risks and regulatory requirements. Team member for company-wide new hire orientation and employee onboarding programs. Works with operations personnel and corporate groups to develop, train and implement safety policies and procedures. Serves as a team member for EHS working groups for continuous improvements in EHS, emergency response, and pipeline excellence initiatives. Member of company emergency response team for response and training, incident command, and equipment deployment drills. Works with operations to document, investigate, and implement corrective actions for incidents in assigned areas of responsibility. Verify compliance and communication with contractors through the use of ISNetworld. Works with operations and project groups in the development or review of job plans, job hazard analyses, and operating procedures. May serve as a team member on corporate health and safety audits. Maintains SDS inventories and compliance. If needed, issues safe work and confined space entry permits. Performs or coordinates Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring or surveys for exposure assessments. Assists the company to maintain health and safety equipment. Provides consultation and recommendations for health and safety issues. Keeps required OSHA records on injuries and illnesses. Oversees and surveys compliance to policies and procedures relating to safety and develops and implements or improves policies and procedures for compliance with OSHA, API, Industry Best Practices, and other relevant regulations. Delivers Smith Systems Driver Training to company employees to reduce motor vehicle incidents. Delivers or coordinates First Aid/CPR/AED Training to company employees. Provides safety coverage for special projects.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience working in a relevant industry (e.g. pipeline, refining, oil & gas) is required.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree required or the equivalent years of experience in lieu of the degree (four years in addition to the experience requirement) is required.

Required Skills

Working knowledge of occupational safety and industrial hygiene practices, and ability to apply this knowledge. Specialized training/certifications in Industrial/Occupational Safety, hazard assessment, Workers' Compensation, case management, incident investigation, etc. Satisfactory completion of a comprehensive medical physical examination. Understanding of basic safety practices and the application of safety policies/procedures for field activities. Demonstrated ability to stand firm on doing the job safely if challenged, but act in a respectful manner. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communications, advanced reading and writing skills, ability to perform intermediate mathematical calcul

Work Conditions

Primarily field and office based with up to 40% vernight travel required. Midstream petroleum industry, and outdoors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pipelines, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating and fired equipment, and confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions. For certain circumstances or emergencies, must be available for weekend and after-hour call-outs when needed

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand & finger movements, reaching and grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing and/or pulling up to 15 lbs. and climbing up to 50 ft., ability to wear personal protective equipment and strenuous physical activity.
