JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Sales Director manages all sales and financial budgets provided in the assigned region including sales budgets, and goals and objectives (G&O's) to meet and/or exceed the sales goals established by the Vice President of Street Sales. The Regional Sales Director sets their own vison and has a frequent and strong presence in the field to understand market activity, develop key accounts, win new partnerships, coach, mentor and develop the District Mentors (DMs) & SalonCentric Street Commercial Field Sales Team (Field Sales Team) and to facilitate manufacturer (brand and divisional partner) support to accomplish corporate initiatives and
TRAVEL: This position requires significant regional travel, with up to 75% of time spent driving, on flights, and prolonged periods of sitting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include the following, other duties may be assigned) Works in the field weekly with DMs, Field Sales Team, and manufacturers (brand and divisional partners) to implement strategic sales plans to accomplish the corporate goals. Directs the sales activities and effectively communicates and monitors the goals to DMs and Field Sales Team based on the established growth number. Meets with key accounts and assists DMs & Field Sales Team with maintaining and strengthening key account relationships. Works with and guides DMs & Field Sales Team to negotiate and develop new accounts. Coaches, mentors, develops, and motivates team through regularly scheduled working sessions in the field, regional meetings, ongoing feedback regarding G&O'sand sales goal attainment, and performance evaluations to develop and refine selling techniques and overall performance. Assists DMs in the development of Field Sales Team using improvement plans to address key areas of concern or opportunity. Manages and leads all monthly regional action meetings and presentations to provide quality learning experiences for all DMs and Field Sales Teams. Monitors the development and sales of educational events within the territory. Is knowledgeable of all company value added resources and communicates all market activity and competitive intelligence to determine customer needs and territory growth opportunities. Manages expenses and travel costs within the allocation provided for the assigned region. Maintains overall responsibility for monitoring diversion activity and alerting Sr. management to any suspicious activity with a recommended plan of action. Manage recruitment process and participate in the interview process including selection and on-boarding of all new hires. Work closely with HR for performance management. Recommend and initiate disciplinary procedures and seek guidance for termination actions. Responsible for providing all administrative and reporting requests on time including sales and budget reports and ad hoc requests to sales management and corporate as needed. Works closely with and assists other departments within the organization as needed. Partner with Brand Partners by developing a Regional Plan that ensures our OMNI sales goals are achieved. Has a positive solution-oriented mindset that seeks to understand the root cause of a situation with all departments and works effectively within our OMNI organization.
EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required and a minimum f 5-10 years of proven sales leadership is essential, beauty or beauty distributor experience is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, ability to speak effectively with customers, employees, and upper management. Ability to count and apply mathematical concepts (i.e., calculate figures and amounts when using percentages and fractions) quickly and accurately to practical situations including budget analysis. Demonstrated leadership experience, ability to address and resolve conflict. Excellent organizational ability and time management skills. Ability to decode key information and initiatives and transfer knowledge to team. Must have a solid foundation finance, budgeting and forecasting to effectively translate sales goals to the team. Must live within assigned region. Requires local and national travel, sometimes on weekends (driving, flying, train, etc.) which may include prolonged driving of a car. May have prolonged sitting for extended periods of time, lifting to 25 pounds, and bending, twisting, and reaching.
