National Jewish Health Pulmonary Physiology Diagnostic Coordinator in Denver, Colorado

Position Summary Provides quality control oversight and necessary computer and engineering support to the PPU in the areas of Computer Systems Administration, Software Engineering, Medical Equipment repair, and maintenance. Responsible and accountable for performing quality Pulmonary Physiology Testing in accordance with the standards set forth by the ATS, AARC and (CAP). This position leads a specialty area of the department and is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of testing and training of all assigned technicians in the specified area.

Essential Duties

Works closely with interdepartmental personnel and several IST specialties to develop and maintain the MGC Diagnostics interface with the entire NJH data network. Performs high quality Pulmonary Physiology testing to assist the physician in the diagnosis of Pulmonary-Cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with ATS, AARC and CAP standards. Provides guidance to less experienced staff to assure high quality exams on all patients while serving as a role model for customer service. Monitors and resolves errors in all MGC Diagnostics and EMR interfaces. Assures all recommended quality control procedures are performed on all Pulmonary Physiology equipment to include all pulmonary diagnostic labs, ABG lab, and spirometry and CPET labs. Proactively collaborates with staff members in each area to stay in full compliance with ATS, AARC, and CAP guidelines. Adjusts and responds to quality control issues in a timely manner. Maintains supporting documentation, including record keeping and quarterly reports to the medical and administrative director Installs, repairs and calibrates patient care equipment in the PPU and Clinics according to manufacturer specifications and set procedures. Manages service contracts. Performs the duties of the PPS designated People Soft Power User and first-level approval authority including generation of complex purchase orders as well as routine stores orders. Proactively resolves all technical issues related to hardware and software. Implements corrective action on any technical changes needed to be in compliance with the American Thoracic Society (ATS) quality control published standards. Other Duties

Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Associates, Bachelors in Science, or Bachelors in Exercise physiology or completion of an equivalent accredited program required.
