Compensation: Compensation is dependent on experience and ranges from $72,000 to $76,000 annually.

General Summary:

The Production Manager shall be responsible for coordinating, organizing and managing events as assigned. The coordination and over sight of daily event activities, stagehand payroll, scheduling and venue production maintenance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Preparing event outlines and summaries for back of house management of daily event activities/daily event payroll, coordination of production equipment, event billing, event staff scheduling and supervision of staff and other duties as required.

  • Coordinate and disseminate event information to venue and departments/stake holders: this includes venue operations, venue security, and front of house staff, and catering.

  • Assist in coordination with city partners for outside service needs for vendors and clients.

  • Communicate with current and prospective clients to determine their event needs.

  • Works with promoters, company managers, resident companies and tour managers to advance events, generate labor calls, assist in creating cost estimates and payroll needs.

  • Review and verify all contracts to ensure accuracy of space rental and ancillary charges are incorporated and needs are accounted for.

  • Conduct, organize and coordinate site visits, tours and provide information regarding facility capabilities, services, labor, technical information, infrastructure and associated costs.

  • Work with clients to assure effective, efficient, and economical event operations while using the facility and labor.

  • Walk the venue spaces and event areas to confirm client needs are met and verify all set ups are correct prior to each event.

  • Assist in department ordering of equipment, expendables, permits, and purchase orders.

  • Assist with development of department policies, objectives, short- and long-term planning; implement programs to meet established goals.

  • Assist with training and implementation of company safety programs to maintain an efficient and effective work environment for all staff.

  • Assist with Human Resource concerns and policies to include disciplinary, incident and injury investigations/reports.

  • Check that all ASM Global and/or City policies, i.e. dress code, professionalism, badges, wearing of safety equipment, etc. are being adhered to by all department crew members.

  • Track and train scheduling and daily labor sign in/out process for all stagehand labor.

  • Maintain and oversee that ASM Global policies and procedures are implemented.

  • Assisting in maintaining all current forms and publications, including venue tech guides, vendor information and client books.

  • Foster a productive relationship through active leadership and facilitate communication between venue management, labor and key stakeholders.

  • Monitor and oversee application of ASM Global / IATSE collective bargaining agreement.

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained specific to all venue stakeholders.

  • Other duties assigned.

  • Baccalaureate degree required.

  • Five years’ management / supervisory experience required.

  • Performance/Production / back-of-house operations background preferred

  • Familiarity with union labor environment / CBA implementation

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills among all levels of staff and clientele

  • Ability to speak, understand, and read standard English

  • Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team

  • Perform leadership role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to work from drawings, specifications and oral requests to achieve desired service/product

  • Provide customer service in a professional considerate manner

  • Excellent record of dependability and reliability

  • Customer Service experience

  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of all Microsoft suite products and applications including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets
