Meta Privacy Policy Manager, Policy Development in Denver, Colorado

Summary:

Meta is looking for a policy expert with experience analyzing policy and regulatory trends, developing legislative strategy, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including product and Legal teams to join our global Privacy & Data Policy team. The team's mission is to develop privacy-protective and innovative approaches to data that help bring the world closer together and improve people's lives. The ideal candidate for this role has significant experience analyzing legislation and discerning and presenting policy trends. They should also have strong communication skills, particularly in drafting succinct analyses for internal audiences, as well as persuasive public submissions to industry groups, policymakers, and regulators. They should be a creative thinker who is interested in developing novel approaches to challenges at the intersection of technology and policy. They should also have good instincts about effective ways to present policy proposals and create support among various audiences, internally and externally.Candidates should be able to lead projects independently and with minimal direction, particularly in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with colleagues around the world.They should be familiar with online consumer services, and be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve. Required Skills:

Privacy Policy Manager, Policy Development Responsibilities:

  1. Track, and analyze, policy and legislative trends related to privacy and data use and share insights with internal partners to help guide development of products and policies

  2. Gather and develop external research to support Meta’s policy positions on legislative and regulatory issues

  3. Draft policy position papers for internal and external audiences on a range of data regulatory matters

  4. Work closely with a cross-functional global team on data regulation matters

  5. Represent the team and Meta at meetings and public-facing events

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience working in policy research and advocacy on global data regulation issues

  2. Knowledge of global data regulation policy issues and trends

  3. Experience analyzing and drafting legislation, and communicating short- and long-form educational materials and talking points

  4. Knowledge of, and interest in, emerging technologies and devices and of Meta products

  5. Bachelor's Degree

  2. Ph.D., JD, or other advanced degree

  3. Proven track record and experience engaging on legislation in different regions around the world, and collaborating with local stakeholders
