Position and Responsibilities Overview The primary function of the Operations Resource Engineer is to develop the project budget, batch plans, as well as other various tracking forms for construction projects. Help coordinate the development of new corporate processes, procedures, and forms with other departments. Assist the Operations Resource Management team with maintaining existing processes, procedures, and forms, as well as the continual improvement of said items.

Primary Responsibilities: Assist the Resource Management team in the identification, development and implementation of new streamlined processes. Provide training for all forms, processes, and standards developed by the Operations Resource Management department. Assist with the development of training documents, including but not limited to videos, SOPs, Power Point, coordination with Learning and Development, etc. Assist Preconstruction project acquisition efforts by creating conceptual or schedule loaded labor forecasts for RFP's. Create cost accounting baseline for construction projects that conform to current company standards. Support the Operations Teams by developing the initial project budget, VDC labor tracking form, triangulations, batch plans, MDP data and other tracking forms. Support the Operations Teams by answering project budget questions, analysis of estimated vs budgeted vs actual labor and cost, and identifying budgeted job costs for job cost adjustments. Oversee the budget signoff process and support the Operations Teams as needed to expedite the signoff process. Support Operations Teams to accurately forecast billing, revenue burn, and labor resources while accurately developing timely job cost projections. Support the Operations Teams to develop unit and labor loaded schedules through accurate onsite dates to help generate labor forecasts and shop fabrication delivery dates. Provide accurate and timely information to VDC and the Shops for labor forecasting. Assist the Operations Teams with detailed job cost analysis to reduce risk and increase project profitability. Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Operations Resource Engineer 1 Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical skills and experience. Independent decision making with some supervisor oversight. Initiates and maintains relationships with key staff and other departments. Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and obtains supervisor approval for changes that affect company operations and standards. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented complexities. Assists with determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities with moderate to some instruction.

Operations Resource Engineer 2 Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years relevant experience. Independent decision making. Demonstrates leadership behavior within the department and is a functional expert of his/her role. Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function. Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments. Initiates and maintains relationships with key staff and other departments. Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations having important impact on activities of the com any. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented complexities. Assists with determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities with little to no instruction.

Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Excel. Proficient with Bluebeam Revu. Detail oriented with the ability to resolve challenges at a micro and macro level. Analytical and strategic thinking. Strong problem-solving ability. Ability to become proficient with new technology in a short window. Experience with mechanical estimating software, such as Quote Express or Trimble Accubid. Willingness to be an early adopter of new technology or industry practices. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Understanding of basic Plumbing, Hydronic, HVAC, Refrigeration, and Medical Gas systems. Understanding of construction scheduling practices and proficiency in analyzing construction schedules. Proficient with scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project, AstaPowerProject, or Primavera P6. Knowledge of construction project management tasks, such as billings, schedule of values, change orders, and document control.
