Responsible for the preparation and filing of external financial reporting documents, such as all annual Form 10-Ks, quarterly Form 10-Qs and other SEC filings. Prepares calculations of metrics reflected on the face of the company’s financial statements and other technical accounting calculations. Is also responsible for specific accounting areas, as assigned. Assists in establishing accounting policy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles related to the financial reporting cycle, adoption of new accounting standards and technical accounting matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manages and oversees the timely, accurate and complete preparation and filing of annual Form 10-K and quarterly Form 10-Q with the SEC, including XBRL tagging, as well as all related internal controls. Ensures proper presentation of financial statements including related disclosures and MD&A are in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules.
Implementing, documenting and maintaining adequate and effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Assists investor relations and finance personnel with the preparation of quarterly earnings release and investor materials as well as legal with other external filings made by the Company (i.e. 8Ks, proxy statements, etc.) reviewing to ensure consistency with the Company’s Form 10-Ks and 10Qs.
Provides accounting guidance on new accounting standards as well as technical accounting matters, including impact on current and future financial statements. Prepares or manages the preparation and review of technical accounting memos.
Prepares or manages the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly consolidated statement of cash flows, statement of stockholders equity, and EPS calculations, etc.
Evaluates accounting issues related to non-routine and complex transactions (i.e. purchase accounting, stock-based compensation.) Is responsible for specific accounting areas as assigned.
Completes research when necessary with clear and concise documentation in order to communicate findings and analysis to all levels of management throughout the organization.
Works closely and communicates effectively with other departments within the organization (i.e. legal, investor relations, treasury and finance.)
Manages the SEC Reporting team and ensures team is staffed with qualified personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above.
Coordinate with Legal, Tax, Treasury and Risk departments with related compliance, equity, and tax accounting, reporting and audit needs.
Facilitate a collaborative working environment between the accounting department and other corporate functions and operations.Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises accounting staff, including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
6+ years of accounting and general ledger experience.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules.
Prior experience in public company environment required.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC rules and regulations, internal controls and financial reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and coach high-performing individuals
Proficiency in the use of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program and reporting tools
Knowledge of business mathematics
Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions and use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, management and vendors
Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports and technical memos
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel

In addition to the salary amount listed, this position is also eligible to earn a performance based bonus on an annual basis. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on individual performance and annual year-end evaluation, overall company success, and terms and conditions of the Company’s active bonus policy for the respective year.
