What will you do?

A day in the life of a Manager, Indirect Procurement at VF looks a little like this.

A truly dynamic role where you will be supporting the Indirect Procurement (Americas) group with process definition, mapping, and optimization in collaboration with the Procurement Technology Group, Legal, HR, Finance, Supply Chain Operations, Digital Technology, and Brands to simplify and streamline the source-to-contract process for indirect spend in the Americas region. Reporting into the Director, Indirect Procurement and partnering with multiple organizations and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to category strategies and sourcing interventions in securing best total value as aligned with company and business priorities. You will also support the sourcing of over $200M in Operation Services Spend, including Contingent Labor, Travel, HR Services, and Facility Services. Every day is a different day as we get involved in new spend categories driven by our strong internal business relationships.

Position requires strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills to identify new opportunities, drive allocation recommendations and influence the decision-making of others. Individual must be a self-starter and have a passion for working with others, learning, leading projects, communicating effectively, negotiating, and making a difference!

Improve the quality of service and external partner capability to enable our business and improve our employee value proposition. Bottomline contribution to our annual Indirect Procurement savings and cost avoidance goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate across procurement and key stakeholder groups to identify and map current source-to-contract processes across all indirect spend categories in the Americas.

  • In collaboration with Procurement Technology team, develop deeper understanding of procurement technology and opportunities to optimize indirect procurement processes with a focus on simplicity, compliance, transparency, and efficiency.

  • Improve usage of procurement technology withing the Americas Indirect Procurement team for process automation, RFx tools (where applicable), and contract lifecycle management.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives and implementation in collaboration with all key stakeholder groups.

  • Investigate potential for AI-enabled procurement to support transactional activities – mitigating risk while improving value delivery.

  • Monitor and report improvements in source-to-contract timing (efficiency) and value (effectiveness).

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate multiple category sourcing projects. Evaluate opportunities by category to ensure that the desired business results are achieved based on best total value (savings, quality, delivery, etc.).

  • Analyze, review and finalize sourcing decisions based on RFx process outcomes, and negotiate regional/national/global agreements to ensure that the selection of suppliers meets all of VF’s requirements as determined by subject matter experts (SME’s).

  • Manage and track VF contracts with suppliers, liaise between the legal department and suppliers in the agreement process, protect the best interests of VF, and ensure successful and timely contract completion.

  • Follow up routinely to the accuracy, direction and completion of project objectives with business owners to ensure process efficiency. Maintain open lines of communication will all concerned parties related to sourcing activities.

  • Continuously develop procurement skills and knowledge of supply base through research, due diligence, training, bench-marking and other means.

What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your years of experience and professional achievements.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5-8 years in procurement

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with process improvement initiatives or certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Able to influence others with the use of data to see another point-of view, particularly people at higher levels in the company

  • Self-starting – proactively pursues courses of action when opportunities present themselves without prompting from others

  • Strong follow through to ensure all elements of a project are in place and functioning properly during and after implementation

  • Must be analytical and able to draw conclusions and make decisions with sometimes limited data

  • Able to manage others, delegate responsibilities and hold associates accountable

  • Negotiation and Indirect procurement category experience strongly preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be results-oriented and drive for best possible outcomes

  • Able to project authority in group settings and have strong presentation skills

  • Coupa, eSourcing, Project Management Solutions, and Microsoft Office

  • Experience working with or maintaining processes related to P2P systems, ERP systems, etc.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

  • Travel by air and overnight as required less than 10% of the time

Hiring Range :

$94,176.00 USD - $117,720.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
