The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) II performs activities associated with the maintenance and updates of software in response to IAVAs, patches, and version updates IAW program requirements and associated vendor licenses.

• Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management across all customer domains as specified by the contract and consistent with negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLA).

• Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements and support the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.

• Design and implement security-related products on an enterprise level as part of a formal software maintenance and update process.

• Participate in the change management process, including reviewing Change Requests and assisting in assessing the security impact of proposed changes.

• Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and functions are properly restored and functioning correctly following an outage and work on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment.

The ISSE II is a journeyman role with solid experience in software updates and patches, vendor licensing management, security planning, and risk management. The ISSE II takes direction from more senior personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• DoD 8570.1.01-m IAT Level II Certification.

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.

• 2 years of position-specific relevant experience.

• 4 years of overall IT/IS experience.

• Experience with IA tools in audit collection, audit review, audit management, and with SIEM software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and/or certifications associated with RMF, ICD 503, NIST SP800-53 or DCID 6/3.

• Experience in current authorization practices, particularly within the DoD.

• Windows, Linux, UNIX, Cisco, SQL or Oracle databases, virtualized systems, Red Hat Enterprise License (RHEL) Linux 7, ACAS, Tenable, and one or more SIEM certifications.

The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000-$117,400. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
