Job Summary

The Integrated Behavioral Health Manager, under general supervision, provides administrative, educational, and clinical oversight to employees and student learners in the Ambulatory Care Services Integrated Behavioral Health Division. Manager participates in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, productivity, grant writing and oversight, and other research as required to ensure sustainability of service delivery and daily operations. Manager participates in policy planning and implementation. Manager functions as the liaison with community partners and stakeholders both internal and external to the organization to further the goals of the Integrated Behavioral Health Division. The Manager engages in direct clinical service provision for patients as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) and participates in supervision and teaching for licensed providers and student lea

Essential Functions:

Clinical Service Delivery Manages and coordinates clinical service delivery and daily activities of employees in accordance with all Denver Health, state and federal regulations to include: the Joint Commission, HIPAA, 42 CFR, and all applicable mental health rules and regulations. (50%) Staff Management Recruits, hires, onboards and administers disciplinary actions for all staff. Oversees scheduling, staffing, standard workflows, and assigns and reviews work. Provides administrative and clinical supervision to licensed providers and employees. Provides clinical supervision and/or reflective supervision in accordance with Healthy Steps national requirements. Sets performance expectations by communicating professional behavior, job expectations, and by maintaining, presenting, reviewing and updating employee job descriptions. Completes annual performance evaluations. (45%) Quality Improvement Facilitates quality improvement initiatives, research and data collection, grant writing and oversight to ensure sustainability of relevant programs, including Healthy Steps. Actively contributes to all LEAN processes, and all Denver Health, department, and clinic performance improvement initiatives. Seeks out educational and training opportunities to advance skills and knowledge, shares knowledge with others. (5%)

Education:

Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or other related human services degree. Required and Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program Successful completion of coursework and examination for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Psychologist. Required

Licenses:

LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC State Licensing Board Required or LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW State Licensing Board Required or PSY-Licensed Psychologist - State Board of Psychologist Examiners Required and BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Extensive skills in business and leadership with demonstrated ability to collaborate and foster inter-organizational relationships and community partnerships. Ability to plan, develops, and implements organizational operational policies, strategic objectives and initiatives. Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term financial, operational, and strategic goals. Ability to analyze and interpret data, budgets, financials, and reports. Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Knowledge of Medicaid, Med care, and commercial insurance products, Joint Commission, HIPAA and 42 CFR compliance standards. Ability to effectively recruit develops, retain, and manage staff to include initiating corrective action plans as needed. Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice in primary care medical settings, particularly with regard to infant mental health services, including culturally informed, evidence-based therapy modalities, crisis intervention, and risk/crisis assessment. Knowledge of patient populations' cultural, religious, ethnic, and social systems in interactions, care planning, and education. Knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis. Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a medical setting.
