POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Legal Compliance Analyst will work with various departments including AE’s Legal, Operations, HR, and Internal Audit Teams to:

  1. Legal compliance: Assist with various legal compliance and litigation efforts including analyzing and identifying compliance areas to strengthen, implementing compliance initiatives, implementing litigation holds, conducting due diligence on counterparties, and facilitating compliance policy implementation and updates as well as training and completion for AE’s employees. (50%)

  2. ESG: Facilitate the execution and management of value-driven pragmatic social responsibility programs across the Company’s global operations and create awareness of the Company’s efforts in this space. This is a multi-dimensional, global, and enterprise-wide position. This position will work closely with major departments. (50%)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the growth and implementation of the Company’s ESG and legal compliance objectives

  • Keep abreast of and evaluate emerging compliance and ESG issues or potential liabilities

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with global company peers engaged in company-wide ESG and legal compliance initiatives

ESG

  • Formulate and execute a proactive ESG and compliance strategy and engage both internal and external stakeholders via various communication platforms to better fulfill the Company’s sustainability responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and drive ESG working committee and steering committee as well as various ESG initiatives for the enhancement of the Company’s ESG performance.

  • Formulate, draft and present the Company’s sustainability report and sustainability initiatives

  • Assist with annual ESG disclosures (including Form 10-K and Proxy Statement) and processes to ensure collection of data and help ensure timely disclosure of ESG information in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain current knowledge of ESG advisory organizations disclosure systems (e.g. TCFD and CDP) and applicable legislative (e.g. SEC and CSRD) disclosure requirements

  • Coordinate customer sustainability questionnaires and cross-departmental responses.

  • Work with sales, investor relations, corporate communications, operations, and marketing to deliver the message of the Company’s commitment to ESG, and ensure our messaging is consistent across business units, the Company’s global footprint, and throughout other corporate communications

Legal Compliance

  • Manage corporate policies and updates and assist with development of processes in support of policies, such as document retention and conflicts of interest

  • Drive awareness of compliance issues and reporting through implementation of wide-ranging communications with global audiences

  • Provide support to global operational teams in support of compliance-related assessments and audits

  • Analyze data to track trends relevant to legal compliance, and initiate deep dives to detect opportunities

  • Manage company-wide compliance training programs and tracking

  • Identify and execute continuous improvements to legal compliance program

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO

  • Environment: Work in a standard office environment

  • Travel: Likely none or very little, 1-10%

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a good understanding or ability to learn common ESG reporting frameworks: GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP, MSCI, ISS, etc.

  • Strong data analysis skills, with at least a basic understanding or ability to learn common ESG and sustainability metrics, data collection methods, and tools

  • Program management and operational capabilities

  • Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and locations in the organization

  • 1+ years’ experience in project management, and developing and executing to project plans and budgets

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills

  • Strong organizational skills, disciplined, and a self-starter

  • Exhibits a strong drive for results

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in successfully influencing and coordinating cross-functional teams towards a common goal

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree – recent college graduate applicants are welcome

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year.
