PeopleReady of Denver, CO is now hiring Carpenters! As a Carpenter with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you'll support a variety of Contractors in the Denver area. Note: The pay rate for this job is $20 - $33 / hour.

What you'll be doing as a Carpenter:

  • You will use many different tools to cut and craft wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.

  • Carpenters commonly use hand tools, including squares, levels, and chisels, as well as many power tools, such as sanders, circular saws, nail guns, and welding machines.

  • Carpenters fasten materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives, and will do a final check to ensure accuracy.

  • They use a tape measure on nearly every project because proper measuring reduces waste and ensures that the pieces being cut are the proper size.

  • Reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.

  • Prepare the layout and scope of work for the project 

  • Install metal and wood framing and roof truss components.

  • U sing hand and electric tools to cut and fabricate and install framework components 

  • Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks and props, using hand tools 

  • Shape and cut materials to specific measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws 

  • Install doors, windows, stairs, baseboards, and crown molding 

  • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, finishing interior and exterior trim, and other wooden fixtures 

  • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard 

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

Job requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry preferred Basic math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to read blue prints

  • Able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload wood and other materials as well as carry needed tools and materials to and from the jobsite

  • Take pride in your strong work ethic, positive mindset, and desire to improve

  • E-Verify: Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Minimum 2 years of finish/rough commercial carpentry experience

  • Self sufficient and fully tooled in the trade

  • Strong scheduling and blueprint reading skills as well as knowledge of metal stud/wood framing, material management, metal doors, hardware install, drywall, trim, cabinets/counter tops, suspended grid, tile install, etc.

  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
