Rise Modular Business Development & Sales Manager (Denver, CO) in Denver, Colorado

Rise Modular LLC is a leading construction technology company that designs engineers, manufactures, and installs full volumetric modular units for inclusion in multi-family apartment and hospitality development projects. Rise's headquarters are based in Plymouth, Minnesota and their manufacturing plant is in Owatonna, Minnesota. The ideal candidate resides in or around Denver, Colorado. This is a remote position with occasional travel to Owatonna, MN.

The company expects to grow to multiple manufacturing plants over the next few years and is financially supported by a strong family office.

Rise is unique in its ability to support and educate all project stakeholders including the developer, general contractor, and design professionals in delivering a full volumetric modular solution to their development.

Job Description:

The primary role of this position is to pursue, grow, and develop a customer base supporting Rise Modular’s manufacturing operations.

This individual would report directly to the CRO, however will work closely with the VP of Design and Administrative Support, as necessary to pursue, secure, and manage a growing customer base developing new customers in target market areas.

This individual must be a highly motivated and competent team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment managing several different project pursuits in various preconstruction completion stages at any given time. Knowledge of commercial construction, project design, sales strategies, and market understanding is necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

This individual must be an effective internal and external spokesperson for the company and represent positively within the business community and the public. The business development/Sales Representative will assist with the creation and implementation of Rise Modular's business development and growth plan.

  • Prospects for new business through personal sales efforts.

  • Advances projects by identifying decision-makers, building trust-based relationships while understanding their pain points.

  • Qualifies leads through understanding the project status, schedule, land ownership, financing, and overall viability.

  • Communicates proactively with all decision makers and influencers, building rapport and establishing trust with clients while maintaining accountability for results.

  • Provides an active hands-on approach in managing customer relationships from early pursuit, through preconstruction and contract execution, including maintenance and touch points throughout the build and set process developing a successful project for Rise with an opportunity for repeat customer business.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, resolving any issues that may arise both pre-sale and post-sale.

  • Communicates regularly with Management team and other BD related internal customers on pricing concerns, issues, competitor activities, sales leads, etc.

  • Logs activity into CRM and maintains detailed reports and KPI’s such as forecasts of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and customer or vendor relationship problems.

  • Educates and promotes the full volumetric building process to project stakeholders including developers, design professionals, general contractors, and subcontractor trades.

  • Works closely with the CRO, VP of Design and others with project prospects to secure and strategize as required to help close new customer opportunities.

  • Provides a hands-on approach with personal accountability for customer service and business growth.

  • Works with the management to develop customer specific BD strategies for existing and prospective clients in chosen target markets.

  • Participates in, and has the ability to, travel to networking and conference attendance opportunities within industries served to support sales initiatives.

  • Reads and analyzes project design plans and provides guidance to estimating for proposal generation.

  • Plans daily, hits specific activity benchmarks, and closes business.

    Preferred Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:                                                                                

  • A college degree is desired, preferably with a technical or business orientation.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant pre-construction and or sales experience in construction-related businesses.

  • Highly motivated and competent team player with the ability to manage a number of different preconstruction phase projects at various stages of development at any given time.

  • Knowledge of commercial construction, project design, sales strategies and market understanding is key.

  • High energy level. Do what it takes to make Rise successful.

  • Creates synergy and enthusiasm within the sales and project support groups where involved.

  • Success driven individual with a can-do approach to project development challenges.

  • Effective communication, presentation and teamwork skills including the ability to write clear, concise documentation.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs with the ability to learn as necessary CRM and construction management software.
