Automotive Program Manager

Job Description:

Program Manager – Longmont US

We are looking for a Program Manager for the execution of a customer project. The PM will also oversee developing budgets and operating plans for the program. Follow up business case for the related program.

In order to be successful in this role, she/he will need to have prior experience in program management, financials and team management.

Program Manager Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities between multiple projects in a program to ensure they align with the overall program goals.

  • Developing a budget and operating plan for the program, including CAPEX

  • Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.

  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities (cross functional)

  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance.

  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.

  • Meeting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency of program status and its deliverables.

  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.

  • Continuously analyzes program risks and develops mitigation plans.

  • Follows the Danfoss Product Development Process (PDP) according to IATF (ASpice, ISO 26262) requirements.

  • Reports to external program stakeholders, cooperation partners and customers

  • Owns the Business Case for the program and follows financial reporting

  • Maintain close relationship with internal supporting functions

  • Reports to the Head of Programs and Portfolio


  • Bachelor’s Degree Minimum

  • PMP Certificate Desired with at least 5 Years’ Experience in the Automotive Field

  • Understanding of Electrical Vehicle Applications/Motors/ Power Electronics Preferred

  • Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Financial Modeling Analysis Skills, Proficient Microsoft Suite

  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative and open to travel as needed

  • Driven, self-starter with ability to execute in ambiguous multi-geography environments

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
