Salary for Announcement

We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $49,900 - $55,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) assists students who are migratory or seasonal farmworkers (or children of such workers) enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

This position will provide educational, personal, and financial services to student participants using one-on-one coaching, workshops, and events in an effort to increase first-year retention and second-year persistence. This is in accordance with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Migrant Education. This position will refer students to other on-and-off campus services to serve identified needs. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the CAMP Director to maintain necessary documents for signature, databases, and other communication necessities. In the absence of the Director of CAMP, the Assistant Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities

50% - Student Advising and Academic Coaching Meet monthly withCAMPscholars within the academic year to set educational goals and determine their personal and financial needs. ReferCAMPScholars to appropriate resources, course selection, academic advisers, programs, resources, tutors, and/or counselors. AssistCAMPScholars with scholarship efforts to increase students' scholarship dollars for the following academic year. Create performance reports to identify students who are at risk of not meeting satisfactory academic progress. Track and maintain records of student performance data for the Annual Performance Report (APR). Support student persistence ofCAMPcompleters.

35% - Student Staff Supervision Collaborate with CAMP team on the student staff hiring process which includes job posting, recruitment, interviews, and on-boarding. Serve as the task supervisor for graduate interns in the Masters of Social Program at MSU Denver. Supervise 3-5 undergraduate peer mentors. Oversee student staff training and development curriculum.

10% - Collaboration & Partnerships Maintain direct communication with appropriate scholar resources such as Academic Advisors, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Registrar's, tutoring resources, and other student engagement and wellness offices that will support the needs of our scholars. Collaborate in on-going and/or new initiatives across campus that help meet our program goals. Collaborate with the CAMP team to plan and coordinate student engagement opportunities that promote student personal development and promotes their academic success. Serve on committees across campus as needed

5% - Other Duties as Assigned Assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the CAMP Director Attend/Engage with HEP/CAMP professional development conferences and meetings
