SCOPE OF POSITION:

Tests and verifies incoming / outgoing materials, performs inspections / verifications on product components and ordered product, complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability. In accordance with Quality Standards and/or Statutory and Regulatory requirements. Prepares documents and reports to present findings to management for evaluating vendor performance. Also initiates Corrective Action(s) and assists operators with product / component specifications to ensure that finished product meets customer specifications. Works under minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Document Control (Facility Specific)

  • Administer the change control system according to approved SOP

  • Evaluate documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting

  • Communicate new / revised documents to affect employees

  • Color Matching (Facility Specific)

  • Read and administers sample for customer approval

  • Approves / Rejects and set up trials upon customer approval

  • Approve / Reject supplier trials

  • Calibration (Facility Specific)

  • Maintain master listings of all equipment and monitoring equipment used to qualify product

  • Calibrates or schedules the calibration for all measurement equipment on before respective due dates

  • Maintain records of all calibration

  • Incoming Material Inspections:

  • Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR)

  • Incoming Inspection Log / Spreadsheet

  • Temporary Deviations

  • Checks Material meets requirements to Quality Standards and/or drawings using calibrated tools and equipment

  • In process / Final Inspections / Audits

  • Validates product according to ANSI ASQ Inspection Table

  • Corrective Action Report (CAR)

  • Aides in the development criteria to inspect, aide in development of check gauges

  • Issue Tracking

  • Checks product against Requirement

  • Process Creation & Revision of Existing Documents

  • Work Instructions, Procedures, Quality Standards

  • Train

  • Supplier Maintenance

  • Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) Review and Maintenance

  • Part list (Quality Standards) submit to suppliers, using data obtained from blueprints and/or customer specifications

  • Corrective Action

  • Writing / Follow up on completion

  • Works closely with operators, lead persons, and supervision to train or re-train when instances of nonconformance are detected and/or change within process work instruction.

  • Follows directions to perform other company related work when time permits or when directed.

  • Maintains work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Performs other duties assigned by management

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

  • Associate Degree and/or five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Assures quality of work through accuracy, neatness, paying attention to details, thorough understanding of information, with minimal rework.

  • Conveys personal commitment to quality by demonstrating good quality behavior.

  • Identified and acts upon opportunities to improve quality of material or process.

  • Ability to escalate quality issues to supervisor in a timely manner
