Role and Responsibilities

About the role:
We are looking for and engineering focused individual to join our small team based in Den Helder as a Simulator Technician, working on the most advanced aviation simulators in the world. Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centers across the globe, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge. We’re continually looking to foster an environment of learning, development, and progression. At CAE you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of systems to help you develop your technical knowledge.
Your tasks:
Identifying, finding and solving problems in complex flight simulation systems
Checks updates and bug fixes at subsystem level with the test engineer/-pilot
Integrates the software configuration items (SWCI´s) to the system and ensures correct communication between hardware configuration items and SWCI's
Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators.
Perform basic visual alignments.
Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
Perform administrative tasks as required.
About you:
Ideally you will either hold a technical degree or 4 years or more work experience in an electronic, avionic, or technical field as a technician or in a similar role, but fresh graduates are also welcome.
Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred
Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
Practical, analytical mindset with great troubleshooting skills.
Fluency in English and Dutch.
Must be a Dutch national due to security clearance requirements
