City Of Delta Evidence and Records Technician in Delta, Colorado
POSITION: Evidence and Records Technician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under direct supervision of the Chief of Police or designee, will perform duties in customer service, receiving, storing, maintaining, and releasing of a wide variety of confiscated property and evidence. Major responsibility is safeguarding and maintaining the integrity of all evidence and a chain of command of custody in accordance with state laws, City ordinances, and departmental policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS: *Possess excellent computer skills for data input; retrieval process, and management of computer inventory, and possess excellent customer service skills *Ability to learn applicable federal, state and local criminal and civil laws, codes and regulations as they pertain to records and evidence management. *Ability to learn and maintain City law enforcement department policies and procedures. *Possess skills for safety measures, methods and practices involved in the handling and storage of firearms, weapons, narcotics, drug, money, and dangerous devices. *Ability to maintain legible, complete and accurate records and related documents. *Ability to work independently, prioritize work assignments and exhibit initiative. *Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials and the public. *Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license. *Will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test and physical exam.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*Any combination of training and education equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience in a records program and evidence/property room environment is desirable. *Will be required to become and maintain NCIC/CCIC Certification, records and sex offender certification, records management certifications, and deputized for VIN inspections.
WAGE: Range $20.44-$27.25
