City Of Delta Boxing Skills Instructor in Delta, Colorado
POSITION: Boxing Skills Instructor
Under direct supervision of the Fitness Coordinator to provide a fun, quality, safe fitness program for all ages and abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Plan and lead boxing skills for people ages 13+ and various fitness levels. * Prepare appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each lesson. * Instruct proper workout methods; explain proper techniques and demonstrate exercises/skills. * Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. * Assess the needs of the patrons and communicate concerns to Fitness Coordinator. * Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time. * Ensure safety standards are met and facility policies are adhered to. * Receives and responds to questions, concerns, and complaints from patrons. * Works collaboratively with participants and Fitness Coordinator to ensure a positive experience. * Inspects and maintains boxing equipment for functionality and safety. * Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
REQUIRED SKILLS: * Possess considerable principles and practices of effective boxing techniques, goals, and objectives. Prior training and experience necessary. * Ability to plan, organize, and implement no contact boxing classes. * Some fitness knowledge preferable. * Ability to provide personal care and assistance, medical attention for co-workers and customers. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, superiors, associates, and the general public. * Possess excellent pro-active customer service skills, including friendly and empathy, and expresses interest in serving our guests. * Represent the organization and City professionally. * Ability to talk and hear in person. * Ability to see and read instructions. * Ability to handle and move objects.
REQUIREMENTS: American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED. Prior boxing programming knowledge. Group Fitness Certification preferred but not required.
WAGE: $15.08-$20.52
SHIFT: Part time position
