ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Engineer, Network Operations assists in the management and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks. This role supports the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Responsibilities include assisting with network monitoring, performing routine maintenance, and supporting testing and quality assurance efforts. The role also involves collaborating with senior engineers to implement network solutions and troubleshoot issues. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to support business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the reliable operation of network infrastructure to support business processes.
- Support team members in identifying and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Implement and configure network services according to defined standards and policies.
- Troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements for network solutions.
- Participate in evaluating network systems and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including configurations and processes.
- Ensure proper functionality and compatibility of network devices within the IT environment.
- Support network testing and troubleshooting efforts, including assisting with end-user reviews.
- Monitor network performance and generate basic performance reports.
- Assist with the maintenance and support of Cisco ISE and Cisco SD-WAN solutions.
- Help troubleshoot and support global Palo Alto firewalls and Prisma Access solutions.
- Respond to network-related incidents and service requests, escalating as needed.
- Continuously learn and develop networking skills while contributing to daily operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Typically possesses a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Good understanding of IT networking hardware, software, and their impact on business operations.
Preferably Cisco CCNP certified or actively working towards it; any Palo Alto or other relevant networking certifications are a plus.
