Description RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Ensure that quality system processes, procedures and records are maintained and effectively implemented. Participates in cross functional teams in the development of new/revised products and processes to meet customer requirements and project timelines. Serves as quality liaison with customers regarding PPAP planning and completion, customer complaints, general communications - establish and maintain a positive relationship. Identifies opportunities for improvement and supports the processes and activities as they relate to product quality. Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues associated with defined product families. Acts as a resource to the manufacturing floor to resolve issues that may have an impact on product quality. Develops control plans, process capability studies, visual aids, forms and other associated documents in support of the Quality System. Conducts audits to insure manufacturing process conformance. Develops and maintains prototype, pre-launch and production control plans consistent with the requirements set forth in the AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Reference Manual. Maintains quality records that support APQP planning and the Quality Management System (QMS). Develops and deploys forms and record retention procedures when needed. Takes corrective and/or preventative action when the product or process does not conform to stated requirements. Take preventative action based upon the regular review of quality assurance data to reduce variation and waste. Investigates causes of non-conforming product and dispositions appropriately. Administer the warranty and product return process and identify opportunities and action plans to provide feedback for product and process improvements. Oversee the internal Quality audit process for an assigned plant/facility. Oversees and monitors the use and effectiveness of the Quality system process. Reviews metrics and results on a regular basis to identify trends and/or potential problem areas. Provides feedback in the performance and achievements toward Quality goals and responsibilities through the Key Operating Metrics (KOM) process. Supervises and provides work direction to quality technicians and/or inspectors.
