The Sr. Plastics Commodity Manager is responsible for creating, disseminating, and delivering Category Strategy that should map out the capability, performance, risk, and desired future state of the Plastics commodity improving performance through PPV projects, VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering), Transport & Logistics savings and robust SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) programs. This individual will have management responsibilities over the Global SRM(s). This associate will own the Plan for Every Supplier (P4ES) and support linkage with Plan for Every Part (P4EP) owned by the Materials Management function. 

This position is part of the Integrated Supply Chain and will be located as an onsite role in Deland, FL OR Timonium, MD.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Cost Management (40%): Management of PPV funnel, project management, and project execution, setting and delivering yearly PPV and VAVE savings

  • Management of Supplier Relationship Managers (25%): Supplier Meetings/Visits, SBR’s, Materials Team collaboration, LTA’s/MSA’s negotiation/contract administration, Supplier OTD improvements, Support site/Pall Inventory Target management, Supplier Evaluation and Risk Assessment (SERA)

  • Category Strategy (25%): Creation and execution of assigned commodity strategy

  • Customer (Internal & External) Relationship Management (10%): Ops/R&D/Engineering/Quality/Sales/Product Management collaboration, external customer support as necessary.

  • Deliver robust MSA\s/LTA’s to migrate from spot buy to strategic relationship e xperience, including contractual documentation, within a dynamic environment.

  • Travel domestically and internationally 50%

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Engineering with 5+ years experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, and/or Supplier Relationship Management

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role managing teams

  • Deep commodity knowledge of Plastics

  • Global Sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company

  • Proven negotiation skills, with demonstrated performance results

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and experience utilizing electronic sourcing tools (eRFQ, eBid, eAuction, etc.)

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Building, maintaining, and fostering relationships with suppliers.

  • Ability to interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's) and Drawings. Commercial experience, including contractual documentation, within a dynamic environment

  • Continuous improvement in manufacturing
