Stetson University Assistant Softball Coach CH9947 in DeLand, Florida
The Assistant Softball Coach supports Stetson University by providing an enjoyable fan experience, keeping our spaces clean and safe, helping our students grow, creating relationships which strengthen our alumni base, ensuring our financial strength, recruiting incredible new Hatters, and impacting the lives of young women on the softball team. Serving as a member of Softball Team, Assistant Coach will work directly with the Head Coach and fellow assistants in the following areas: recruiting, camp coordination, travel accommodations, everyday office work, alumni engagement, gameday operations and any other items that the Head Coach delegates to this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Head Coach for any and all duties which include (with help from fellow assistants):
Stetson camp coordination
Assists with recruiting coordination
Travel accommodations (hotels, buses, meals, etc.)
Practice Schedules (ARMS), and Practice plans
Game Schedules and Game Day operations
Alumni engagement
Assists with fundraising events
This job includes being able to throw Batting Practice, hit fungo, and o ther softball-related assignments deemed appropriate by the Head Coach.
Required Skills
Knowledge of the game of softball, being able to adapt to the evolving game, softball/baseball experience in playing and coaching, ability to engage and develop players both mentally and physically.

Work Environment: The work environment will include many hours outside on the softball field in various temperatures. It will also include office work inside at a controlled temperature.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Exceptions for a Masters degree will be considered as follows: in the process of attaining a degree, a written statement that the candidate will attain a master's degree within the first two years of employment or at least 5 years of college softball experience.
Salary Grade: 3
