Aerotek Utilities Technician in Dekalb, Illinois

Job Title: Utilities Technician

Job Description

This Utility Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant air compressors, chillers, fire tube boilers, clarifier, fire suppression system, RO system, and HVAC related equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow directives regarding daily tasks and long-term projects.

  • Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical aptitude to repair a variety of utilities equipment.

  • Address underlying root cause of equipment defects to restore equipment functionality.

  • Document and track all work, labor, and parts usage through CMMS system.

  • Ensure compliance with local jurisdictional authorities as it relates to reporting and operating requirements of site utility systems.

  • Adhere to and assist Operators, Technicians, Management, and Engineering in following utility equipment PM schedules and critical maintenance.

  • Interpret and follow basic, intermediate, and complex blueprints and schematics.

  • Perform equipment maintenance and overhauls of utility equipment sub-components.

Work Environment

The employee works in the office of a manufacturing plant environment with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with working in a high traffic, heavy machinery, manufacturing plant.
