Job Title: Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

This position is responsible for producing plastic sheet products through various extrusion machines according to customer specifications. Responsibilities include startup/shutdown procedures, troubleshooting, quality control inspections, proper packaging, and material handling. The role also involves training others on processes. Once the machines are set up and running, they may operate continuously for up to two weeks, requiring regular monitoring and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Produce plastic sheet products using extrusion machines.

• Perform startup and shutdown procedures.

• Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.

• Conduct quality control inspections.

• Ensure proper packaging and material handling.

• Train and assist others in operating processes.

• Monitor machines and take measurements every 2 hours.

• Use a forklift to move pallets approximately every 45 minutes.

• Consistently walk up and down the machine to ensure proper operation.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of machine operating experience within the plastics industry.

• Ability to lift 40-50 lbs regularly.

• Comfortable learning to drive a forklift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in plastic extrusion is ideal but not required.

Work Environment

This role operates Monday through Friday with three shifts available: 1st shift from 6am-2pm, 2nd shift from 2pm-10pm with an additional $1.00 per hour, and 3rd shift from 10pm-6am with an additional $2.00 per hour. Optional overtime is available every other weekend. The work environment is very clean, with a team of 32 total employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $56160.00/yr.
