Job Title: General Production Worker - PACK

Job Description

• Follow all SOP guidelines related to the job
• Pack items on the lines for shipment
• Ensure items are not damaged, broken, etc.
• Correctly use ingredients
• Check weights and accurately record all lot and bag numbers used
• Practice sanitation of the equipment
• Maintain a clean work area
• Lift 50-55 lbs consistently at waist height, or shift weight side to side
• Work in confined spaces due to the age of the building (such as spiral staircases)
• Work in hot environments in non-AC areas
• Utilize heights (catwalks above machines)
• Work schedule: Hiring (1) packager for days 6a-6p, (2) packagers for nights 6p-6a
• Monday - Wednesday with a potential for OT on Thursday
• In September, expect to move to 4 days all the time due to business
• $19/hour starting pay, with a $0.50 2nd shift and $0.75 3rd shift differential offered

GMP REQUIREMENTS: - This is a food facility, good manufacturing practices are required - Food allergies must be checked (concerns for those allergic to dairy, nuts, etc.) - No jewelry, fake nails, fake lashes, chains, watches, rings, etc., may be worn - Uniforms must be worn at all times - Steel-toed boots required (above the ankle) and must have them on day one - A lot of stairs and walking required due to the building

Hard Skills

• Must be able to lift 50-55 lbs on a consistent basis

• Must be able and willing to train on forklift usage in the future

• Previous machine operation experience in manufacturing

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Defiance, Ohio.

Work Environment

Large, older style brick manufacturing building. Additional locations across the street as well. The facility produces dry powder items, like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix. Can be hot in areas; mixing area is air-conditioned.
