Rice Lake Contracting Corp. Payroll Manager in Deerwood, Minnesota

The Company: Water Resources Group owns and provides services to a family of self-performing general contractors in the civil sector of construction. These companies perform work in the Upper Midwest and Mountain West regions of the United States from offices in Deerwood, MN, Monticello, MN, Golden, CO, Fargo, ND, and Watertown, SD. Primary Function: The Payroll Manager maintains employee records, prepares, processes and distributes employee payroll, manages all employee and union fringe benefits, reports and pays all required Federal/State/Local payroll taxes in compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. Accountabilities: Payroll Process Payroll Taxes Benefit Enrollment and Reconciliation Union Wages and Fringe Benefits Fringe Benefit Audits Employee Point of Contact Annual Reporting of W2s and 1095s Education, Licensing, and Professional Certification Requirements: BA/BS in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred; Associate degree accepted. Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred; 5 years related experience accepted. Practical Knowledge Needed: The successful candidate will possess proficient working knowledge of: Business Administration Federal/State/Local Payroll Tax Reporting Compliance Reporting Human Resources Payroll and Labor Practices Union Labor Practices Benefits Administration Business Systems Software and Applications Used: Microsoft Office Products, Cloud Based Time Tracking and HRIS Applications, Enterprise Resources Planning Software and Reporting Tools. Overall Character Description: Multi-tasker with an analytical approach to problem solving and a focus on detail. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, a cooperative attitude, and even temperament, and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment. Compensation: This is an exempt position. The salary will be competitive based on the successful candidate's skill set and experience.
