Mission Brief - basic function of the role
In this role, your primary objective is to execute field machining services directly at customer sites. Drawing upon your seasoned expertise, you'll deploy to the frontlines, bringing precision machining capabilities where they're needed most. Your mission is clear: deliver on-the-ground machining solutions with the utmost skill and efficiency, ensuring our fellow veterans and allies have the critical support they need to accomplish their missions.
Shift: Varies based on assigned projects; evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing on-site Field services and operating associated equipment such as but not limited to:
- Hydraulically/Air powered clamshell to pipe cut and bevel
- End prep
- Flange facer
- Portable mill
- Key-mill
- Bore-bar
- JTL
- Portable drill
- Torque and Tensioning
- Weld test and Isolation
- JI software
- Adheres to safe and specified standards, completing all required documentation
- Job preparation and mobilization / demobilization including equipment lists and preparation, procedures
- Set up and adheres to all Hydratight and site related procedures and polices including work permits and proper use of PPE and other equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a sense of on-site ingenuity to rectify problems with equipment and/or difficult situations
- Maintains company quality, safety and environmental standards and policies
- Interface with client in a professional manner always representing Hydratight to the highest standard
- Communicates job progression back to the main office daily
- Accurate and timely completion and submission of all job-related documentation including QA-QC documents
- Complies with specific task requirements including ability to identify potential hazards using risk assessment.
- Carry out driving duties in accordance with the Company's requirements.
- Adhere to the company's procedures in relation to quality management and environment systems.
- Adhere to the Company's Safety Procedures and Policies.
- Book travel and maintain travel records though Enerpac Travel page.
- Manage expenses during travel as well as submit expense reports monthly.
- Use company email to communicate with internal and external clients
Skills and Competencies
- Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Windows software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and company business ERP system.
- Read and interpret documents such as operating procedural manuals, maintenance instructions, and safety rules and MSDS.
- Ability to scope, troubleshoot and execute project to required specifications with support from service center.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees of organization.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, including the use of decimals and fractions.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Will be traveling to customer sites alone, must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to pass site specific background and drug tests as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Experience with field machining equipment with no hands on supervision
- Process Basic Plus and/or OSHA 10
- Active Nuclear clearance is preferred
- TWIC card preferred; eligibility to obtain a TWIC card is required
- Valid Driver's License is required
Physical Demands
Employee will have to lift tools up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This will include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will move themselves in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is typically refineries, chemical plants, pipelines, and offshore where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee may be exposed to high/low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation, small and/or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
