Role Definition
As an Electrical Integration Engineer, you will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach team members, and broaden your professional network.
Responsibilities
Responsible for schedule, planning, cost, quality, BOM, validation and collaboration with internal/external customers/suppliers for electrical installation on LWL/WDC machine models.
Research and develop new technology
Design and promote new components and sub processes for the electrical integration
Perform electrical load analysis and initiate discussions with system partners
Evaluate new products, processes, or systems
Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
Perform product maintenance
Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Degree Requirement
Degree required: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum. Advanced degree is preferred.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering:
Extensive experience designing harness/cables installation for Caterpillar (preferably wheel loaders and/or compactors)
Extensive experience in electrical schematic design (preferably Creo Schematic)
Coaches others on orthographic, isometric and axonometric projections
Presents complex products and systems graphically.
Performs manipulations on design objects, such as changing projections and managing drawing layers.
Directs the matrix computations performed to transform objects in coordinate space.
Consults on benefits and drawbacks of top-down design vs. bottom-up design.
Compares and contrasts uses of bird's-eye views and worm's-eye views.
Product Design - MFG:
Understands the assembly process, challenges and opportunities for final assembly of large mining equipment
Deep understanding of electrical harness manufacturing challenges, opportunities and cost drivers
Deep understanding of electrical cable manufacturing challenges, opportunities and cost drivers
Deep understanding of high and medium voltage manufacturing challenges, opportunities and cost drivers
Develops improvement plans for senior management and evaluates the outcome of the design against the functionality.
Advises others on the development of multiple products and their functionality.
Trains others on advanced tools and approaches of product design.
Monitors the processes and procedures of a complex product design to ensure functional requirements are met.
Evaluates feedback from customers and consults on functional weaknesses.
Controls design and development costs of a proposed product through effective resource coordination.
Product Design and Development:
• Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness.
• Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process.
• Supervises the management of multiple and diverse types of products or services.
• Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.
• Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.
• Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.

Summary Pay Range:
$108,360.00 - $162,480.00
