How You'll Create Possibilities
HOW YOU'LL CREATE POSSIBILITIES
This position is located in Decatur, AL. Please note housing and relocation assistance is currently unavailable. The HR Intern assignment is 3 - 4 months in duration and is a full-time on-site internship. Assignments may include:
Support a variety of tasks related to hiring and onboarding new employees, such as material preparation, coordination of training and facilitators, and other tasks as assigned
Provide administrative support for recruitment, including generating letters and candidate communications
Assist employees with benefits and general HR questions and inquiries, as needed
Participate and assist with annual benefits enrollment events, including communications, meetings, and one-on-one help with employees
Support employee engagement events and activities related to driving improved retention and increased employee morale
Assist in managing both electronic and hard copy HR documents, files, and records
Provide support in other HR projects, tasks, needs, and initiatives

Required Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree or above (sophomore standing in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Must be actively enrolled and be in good academic standing in an accredited school or university pursuing a degree in one of the above majors
Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0
Be a self-starter and have the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects
Advanced skill set in various MS Office applications
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while maintaining a high level of professionalism and strict confidentiality
Able to work minimum 30 hrs. per week Monday thru Friday during hours of 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Due to the nature of this position, the candidate must be local to Decatur or the surrounding area. This position is not eligible for housing & relocation benefits.
Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; GE Appliances will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position

Prior intern, co-op, or research experience
Strong analytical and technical skills
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
General business / finance understanding
