DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to be a part of our Dearborn, MI team. The Transportation Project Manager will provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation and public works projects throughout Michigan as well as leading and mentoring project teams in design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for MDOT, counties, and municipalities road agencies. Responsibilities include: Demonstrate expertise with Departments of Transportation and public works infrastructure projects. Provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation projects throughout Michigan, leading and mentoring project teams in all aspects of design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for MDOT, Municipal, County, and Transit agencies. Lead plan production for conventional design-bid-build and design-build highway projects Review the work of other professionals - this includes QA/QC, mentoring, training, and growing staff in the performance of job duties. Have a broad understanding of all elements of the design of highway transportation facilities, including roadway elements, hydrology and hydraulics, structures, and traffic related items. Reviews project proposal or plan to determine scope, timeframe, staffing requirements and resources necessary to deliver project. Develops and maintains client engagement to ensure satisfaction. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Michigan, or the ability to obtain a Michigan PE license within 6 months of hire. 8 years of experience working on transportation design projects. Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on MDOT (or other DOT) transportation projects. Strong technical background in Transportation Engineering - Planning and Design
COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position is $105,989- $165,525 and is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
